Grampire

Welcome to a new serial fiction! Reminiscent of the silly shenanigans of The Owl House and
the monster of the week format and larger overarching story of the X Files, Grampire is the
perfect coming of age story about two unlikely friends preventing the end of the world.

When Malia, a young werewolf, gets struck by lightning while gardening, she figures it’s just
another manifestation of her horrible bad luck. But the lightning strike leaves behind a curious
burn in the shape of the cursed mark of the fourth horseman of the apocalypse, Death.
The rest of her pack is none too happy about sharing space with someone who might bring
about the end of the world, and chase her out of the only home she’s ever known. Now alone,
Malia teams up with an eccentric, sometimes frightening elderly vampire to figure out how to
get the curse lifted, and in their spare time, prevent Armageddon. No big deal! Nothing a plucky
werewolf and her beloved Grampire can’t handle.

What is serial fiction?

Some authors use serial fiction to connect with their readers, and readers can help shape the story with their comments. Serial fiction is receiving a boom in popularity with books like Dungeon Crawler Carl, but it’s not a new method; even classics like Sherlock Holmes and Great Expectations were first serialized work. In my case, Grampire is written in “episodes” that stretch between 4-8 chapters and is reminiscent of a TV show or short story format rather than novel or movie. It’s a totally different way of writing than I’m used to, and I’m having a fantastic time. I hope you’ll join me over on my newsletter, Royal Road (coming soon!), or Patreon

to read it!

FAQ

Where can I read Grampire?

Currently, it’s on my website under “Exclusive Content,” but you must join my newsletter to access it. Alternatively, it’s also free on Royal Road, which is a website just for serial fiction! You can also read ahead of both the newsletter and Royal Road on Patreon if you’d like.

How much does it cost to read?

You can read Grampire for free! I really wanted it to be a bright spot of joy in these trying times and to reach as many people as possible. But if a particular cliffhanger is killing you or you’d like to give me extra support, you can sign up for sneak peeks under various tiers at Patreon. I also have some special Grampire-related goodies over there, so I hope you take a look!

How often will Grampire be released?

Grampire is currently on a bi-weekly schedule. New chapters will release every Monday and Thursday. But if the demand is high (or more accurately, if I get a handle on my deadlines), that amount may increase!
